Yoga
Asudra yoga
Asudra yoga means bringing balance and harmony to our energetic system. On a physical level it means a detox and a regeneration. On a mental level it is calming down. On a spiritual level it is the transformation from duality to oneness. Asudra yoga can be very easy, but also very challenging. By paying attention to our breath consistently, we gain the insight that everything is interconnected. We improve our physical, psychological, mental and emotional condition, we increase our willpower and sense of balance, we relax and strengthen the joints. We improve the workings of our organs. At the end, there is always a very deep relaxation.
Dynamic hatha yoga
In Dynamic Hatha Yoga, we blend all movements with our breathing. We go through sun salutations, standing and seated poses, and we seek balance. With each inhale and exhale, we connect the various poses in a fluent way. Dynamic and intense, this class is accessible to anyone who wants to challenge their body. The result is a sense of fulfilment and relaxation. Join us and discover the power of harmony between movement and breathing!

Hatha slow flow
During the Hatha Slow Flow classes, we take our time to move in slow motion from one yoga pose to the next one, in a meditative way. The repetition of poses, the slow pace and the moments of silence gradually quiet the thoughts in our heads. Hatha Slow Flow is considered a fusion of modified vinyasa flow and hatha yoga, making it accessible to both beginners and advanced students.
Flow on your own rhythm, slide from a cobra to a downward dog and come back home to your own body. The slow movements allow you to sink deeper into each pose, while your breath guides you through smooth transitions. Hatha Slow Flow is an opportunity to let go of the rush of everyday life and to connect with the soothing cadence of your own breath. Experience harmony between body and mind while you explore the joy of moving in slow flow.

Tools like blocks and straps support the learning process and make the practice of asanas accessible to everyone, regardless of age, flexibility or physical condition. Restorative yoga
Restorative yoga is the perfect remedy for those with a body that is protesting, resisting, not willing to cooperate and feeling like a burden, as well as for those longing for blissful comfort, softness and deep relaxation. The goal of Restorative yoga is to recover from built op physical or mental fatigue. The restorative poses allow you to discover how to gently heal yourself in the moment. Instead of getting stuck, you will learn to create space for enjoyment, relaxation and acceptance. The class offers hands-on practices, like effective mini-massages to relieve tension. Vinyasa Yoga
During a powerful flow, you move in sync with the cadence of your own body and a carefully chosen soundtrack. In a dynamic mix of energetic asanas, breath work, stories, mantras and mudras, you play with your body, discovering your true self, layer by layer. It happens again and again. And again.
The music takes you along on a journey towards balance. In the simplicity of the movements a creative energy can be found, and a tribute to the highs and lows of life. This practice means coming home to yourself, being totally free. A unique harmony emerges from the rhythm of your heartbeats, a dance of freedom and expression. An ode to the strength that lies in listening to your inner melody. Take part in this powerful flow and uncover the joy of moving to the rhythm of your own essence.
Yin flow
The essence of a Yin flow class is slowing down, being gentle and mild to yourself. We make the body move, gain strength, slow down and sense your needs in the moment. This class consists of long, relaxing poses aimed at stretching the deeper layers of the body and calming the mind. The proposed poses allow your body to release stress and tensions. We move from pose to pose to the beat of our breath. Yin flow also includes poses that strengthen the muscles, improve circulation and increase flexibility. It’s a great form of yoga for anyone in search of that piece of consciousness within themselves, and anyone looking to experience more peace and flexibility in their body. And it will de-stress you, always.
Yin yoga
Yin yoga is all about relaxation and release. This meditative form of yoga mainly involves extended sitting and/or reclining poses. Ligaments, bones and joints that don’t normally get much attention in more active yoga forms, will get a mild stretch. The focus is often on the hips, pelvis and lower back, but not exclusively: Yin yoga reaches beyond that.
At first sight, Yin yoga may seem passive and soft, but the challenge lies in the long duration of the poses. It is perfectly complementary to dynamic (yang) yoga forms, which focus primarily on strengthening the muscles. Yin yoga is fit for people of all ages and does not require extraordinary flexibility. It is an invitation to slow down, take deep breaths and create space for relaxation in body and mind. A valuable practice for the restoration of balance and a chance to enjoy the benefits of slow and deliberate movement.

Zen yoga
Zen Yoga: yin yoga + yoga nidra
During an hour of Zen yoga we invite you to de-stress, slow down and tune in to your inner self. This experience goes beyond physical exercises; it is a journey inward, connecting you to your inner stillness and relaxing you completely. The session begins with some yin poses, specifically designed to allow a flow of vital energy in our bodies. By calmly remaining in these poses, we pay attention to the deeper tissues of the body, creating a sense of relief and vibrancy. These exercises help you to release physical tension, but they also encourage a deeper connection with ourselves. From the yin poses, we flow seamlessly into yoga nidra, also known as the ‘yoga of sleep’. Yoga nidra offers a unique experience, allowing us to reach a deep relaxation that is similar to the state in between being awake and asleep. During this phase, we go on a guided journey through our inner world, exploring and relaxing at different levels of awareness. The healing and restorative effects of yoga nidra are extraordinary. As your body lies relaxed on the mat, your mind travels through the inner dimensions of your consciousness. This does not just relieve stress and tension, but improves your emotional balance and mental clarity as well.

Pilates
Pilates introduction
Pilates, a breath of fresh air for your back! In this beginners class, we emphasize the essential principles and fundamental exercises. Pilates is a type of exercise conceptualized by the legendary Joseph H. Pilates, with the goal of stretching, strengthening and balancing the entire body. The exercises are done on the mat, with a focus on control and precision. The movements are lead by the body center, also called the powerhouse (the abdominal/lower back, gluteal and thigh muscles). Proper breathing supports each exercise, and each movement is performed according to these principles.
Pilates strengthens your muscles, improves your breathing and helps with good posture. As a form of exercise, it’s ideal for people who want to prevent or relieve back pain, and who want to gain a renewed self-awareness through physical activity. Even for those new to sports, pilates brings a fresh sense of bodily awareness. We offer two levels:
Level 1: Pilates introduction
Level 2: Pilates basic
Pilates all levels
Pilates all levels
This pilates class also consists of basic exercises, but takes into account the level of all participants. Suitable for both beginners and people who have been taking pilates classes for some time.
Pilates level 2
A pilates class at an advanced level where we assume that you master the basic techniques and have been taking pilates classes for some time. There is more room for deepening the techniques and the pace is a lot faster. The exercises themselves are more complex and offer more depth. The sequence of exercises is faster as well, which gets you into a real flow. Corrections and adjustments ensure that you do the exercises with precision and that your pilates practice keeps growing. Even if you are in good shape, it is important that you know how to execute the exercises correctly to achieve the right effect on your body; that is why Pilates level 2 is not suitable for beginners.

Pilates reformer
Reformer all levels
The term ‘reformer’ has a literal meaning of transformation, with emphasis on the transformation of the body.
In this class, you use a device with a moving platform, on which you assume various positions: lying down, sitting and standing. The springs which are attached to the base of the platform, make sure you experience resistance during the exercises. These springs offer an extra challenge by helping you to feel the deep connections in your body. They stretch your short muscles, strengthen your entire core and help with stabilization.
The result? You feel taller and lighter, move more smoothly and your body just feels good!
Reformer classes are taught in small groups, with a maximum of three participants. Taking these classes is only possible after purchasing a Reformer pilates session.
Reformer private class
Do you want a private class on the reformer? Get in touch with us, and we will be happy to arrange a convenient moment with the teacher. This private class is priced at €60. All you need to do is send your request to studiogroenevallei@ips.be.
Dance
Dance expression
Dance expression classes focus on your unique way of improvising dance. We focus on various themes that inspire you to move your body in its own way. Your personal interpretation and feel for the music is central, which you then transform into a unique dance expression.
You will expand your range of movement and stimulate your creativity in a playful and spontaneous way. You become more aware of your body and allow yourself to be guided by impulses and emotions evoked by the music. Whether you dance alone or with others, you create authentic movements that emerge from your inner experience. These classes are a chance to immerse yourself in the world of dance and movement, giving you the opportunity to rediscover yourself.
NIA
Nia, derived from Neuro-muscular Integrative Action, originated in the 1980s when fitness instructors Debbie and Carlos Rosas were looking for alternatives to traditional fitness exercises. They combined Eastern and Western techniques, drawing inspiration from dance forms such as jazz dance and modern dance, martial arts such as tai chi and aikido, and healing arts such as yoga and feldenkrais.
Nia, now widespread in more than 40 countries, offers a holistic approach to movement. This unique fusion of movements loosens the body and mind, frees emotions and redefines the joy of movement. The movements are performed to music and follow the build and function of your body, making you respect limits and rediscover pleasure in movement, regardless of age.
Nia: a holistic concept that keeps your body fit, stimulates mental strength and creativity, and gives your emotions the space they need. Suitable for young and old, male and female, no dance experience required!
